Live and celebrate life...
Upcoming Events
All my events can be found at https://www.appleanbooks.com/events. Here are two upcoming ones.
#1. Women’s Author Fair at Parthenon Books in Syracuse
Celebrate local women authors during Parthenon’s author fair! These 12 authors will sell and sign copies of their books. Come to Parthenon, grab a coffee and support local. Click here to learn more.
I will be showing my four books on Saturday 3/29.
#2. 10th Annual Books in the Humanities Celebration, Syracuse University
Time: April 30, 2025, 4 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Location: Strasser Legacy Room, 220 Eggers
The Syracuse University Humanities Center proudly marks a decade of yearly celebrations honoring humanities-related books authored or edited by current Syracuse University faculty, staff, and students.
This spring we recognize 46 works released by 45 SU scholars in ©2024 with a reception that displays the books and officially debuts its digital guide companion. You can explore past years' collections of featured 'Books in the Humanities' in Syracuse University Libraries' Research Guides.
Two of my books will be part of the celebration: 28 Voices, and Mother of Red Mountains.
Mother of Red Mountains Free eBook
I am deeply grateful for everyone who contributed to the success of the book in various ways. In the spirit of celebrating, the ebook format is free for a limited time during March 21 to March 25. Get the ebook for yourself or as gifts for your loved ones.

To gain an understanding of my readers’ reactions, I ran ChatGPT on the 66 global reviews of the book I received up to March 14, and here is the result:
The Book I Just Read: The Love of My Afterlife
What would you do if you have died but given an opportunity to go back to live for 10 days to find your love - you’d stay alive if this person kisses you voluntarily within that 10 days? What to do if you know you would die again anyways by the end of the 10 days? We all take it for granted that our lives can go on for a long time, or the ends of our lives are far away. But you could get a car accident and die. You could suddenly fall ill and die. Or you could eat a burger and chock to death. Do you only live for real when death is in your face? Can you be serious about what to do for the rest of your life, be it 1 day, 10 days, or 50 years?
I found this book by Kirsty Greenwood deeply relatable. It makes me think, nod, reflect, and laugh. Yes, laugh, because the book is quite funny. Plus, it is a romance! (sorry for those who don’t like romance.) I highly recommend it. I just found out as I am writing this short review that the book is a Good Morning America Book Club pick. Hey, great minds think alike!
We don’t know what tomorrow may be like and how many tomorrows we may have. But we do know we have today. Live to our fullest and celebrate life as if there is no tomorrow.
