Exciting News!
Thank you for letting me inform you about my books.
This newsletter updates you on two significant developments of my debut book Las Crosses, originally published in April 2023.
Award Recognition
In November 2023, Las Crosses was selected as a finalist for the Women's Non-Fiction and Multicultural Non-Fiction categories at the 2023 IAN Book of the Year Awards. You can see the seal is proudly added to the new book cover.
Established in 2010, The Independent Author Network (IAN) holds book award contests annually. Books can be submitted to multiple categories, and each category has one winner and several finalists. It is a great honor to be recognized for two of the three categories I submitted (I didn't win the "Debut" category).
To give you some perspective, according to IAN, there are more than 48 million books available on Amazon.com, and 100,000 new titles are added to the Kindle Store every month.
Large Print Available
The large print paperback and hardcover editions have just been published. They are available anywhere books are sold, similar to the regular print paperback and hardcover books.
Large print books are for people or situations where reading regular-sized books is difficult. Examples are children (especially those with dyslexia or other disabilities), the elderly, low vision or visually impaired, reading on a moving bus/train, being tired or reading for an extended time, or quick reading/scanning (fewer words per line and fewer lines per page).
Large print books must meet special requirements such as font size (16 or 18), font style, line spacing, and contrast. With a larger book size, more pages, and a wider spine, large print books are more expensive than regular ones.
On Amazon, the two large print editions of Las Crosses are linked to existing editions of regular print paperback and hardcover, the eBook, and the audiobook. Thus, existing reviews are available for anyone interested in checking out the large print editions.
P.S. The eBook is only available in the Kindle store at Amazon as a Kindle Book or Kindle Unlimited. The audiobook (narrated by Elizabeth Emery) is only available on Audible (owned by Amazon). I still have free codes for Audible members. If you or someone you know would like to listen for free, please reply to this email, and I will happily send a code.
Thank you for your continued interest! I will keep you informed on the next book that is coming soon. Will it be about Apple in Texas, Beijing, or elsewhere? Or will it be about something else?
Fondly,
Apple
