It’s been a while!
The end of February always brings hope to me! In that regard, and this may sound strange... February is actually my favorite month of the year! Hmm... What is your favorite month?
It's been a while since the last newsletter in 2023... Wait, that long ago?! Time flies when one is having fun! Indeed, many good things have happened! Here are just two major ones to give you a heads-up. Plus, here are some upcoming local events for book lovers during early spring. Buckle up, this is a long newsletter!
The 2nd Memoir
One year after the release of my debut memoir, Las Crosses, I am about to release the 2nd memoir in April. In a Star Wars fashion, you may find this 2nd memoir to be, well, out of order. It covers my life from 3 to 17. I try to use the same engaging style that many readers of the debut memoir pointed out, and to paraphrase several reviewers: "as if the author takes you along for the journey," "as if you are watching a movie," or "gentle humor, heartwarming, and inspirational." There will be more on this second memoir later.
The 1st Anthology Volume
A collection of creative non-fiction from 30 seasoned authors is well underway and will be released in late spring to early summer. I love to read real stories by people from all walks of life. I have met some of these authors during my creative writing journey and enjoyed their voices. But many of them, just like me, struggled to find an outlet for their voices to be heard. I am grateful that they liked my idea and got on the bus. And this would be just an idea without the instrumental effort from my dear friend Georgia Popoff to co-edit it with me. More on that later, too.

YMCA Annual Campaign Featuring
YMCA Central New York featured me in their annual campaign. This is a great opportunity for me to pay back the benefits I have received over the past seven years. I wanted people to hear from someone real (so you will hear me saying something in the video clip).
While I get the viewer's attention, I wanted to showcase products related to YMCA DWC. If you look carefully at my photo, you will see my debut memoir, as well as the memoirs by Carol Decker and Pam Carroll, my two writing buddies and beta readers. You will also see the spine of Linda Lowen's book. Linda was my first instructor at DWC. Thank you, Carol, Pam, and Linda!
