Special Moment: New Year Day & Family Time
Jade cooked dumplings and roasted pork for dinner—the typical Chinese Holiday food from our hometown. Her meals are always so tasty!
Attraction: Red Rock Canyon
Not far from Marco’s house is the Red Rock Canyon. You won’t miss it because the red rock will show up as you approach that direction.
We stopped at the gate, only to read the notice that the park was full and reservations were required. We didn’t want to just drive away—I wanted to collect that stamp to add to my passport—so we approached the gate. We explained that we just wanted to have a quick look, collect the stamps, and get on. The attendant checked our national park pass and said, “The parking lot is full but if you promise to get in and out quickly, I will let you go.”
That was what we did: in and out quickly. But I still had some time to admire what I saw and made a mental note that I’ll be back someday.
The view through the panorama window inside the visitor center almost looked like a painting or photo, but it was a real view of the mountains!
Happy New Year Apple!
